Dolomites Lago Di Braies micro wedding

Debbie and Kevin married in the stunning area of the Dolomites. With Lago di Braies being the main setting for their ‘I do’s’. It truly was magical!

Debbie was in touch with me in early 2023 after seeing my images from an amazing Iceland adventure. She wanted to have something stunning for their day. We initially had quite a few locations ideas passed back and forth, with Iceland, Morocco and Cappadocia all on the cards. After finding out that they loved mountains, hiking and water then the Dolomites then took over. After showing them Lago di Braies where you could also do a first look on the deck and have the boats. I think the idea was well and truly set!

Debbie and Kevin came over to the Dolomites from Canada to marry with their closest family at the lake. They had 9 family members from the US and the UK who got up before sunrise to help set up their ceremony while they did their first look on the boathouse before opening hours.

On day 1 we had their first look, ceremony and couple shoot for a half day. Which started at 7am where we had the boathouse for 1.5 hours all to ourselves. Allowing us to get the change in light as the sun rose over the mountains. These are some of my favourite photos of the day. We then took a short break before heading over to the family who were finished with the wedding set up to start their intimate vows and family photos. Before finishing the day with a quick dip in the water!

Day 2 was a full day hike with a 10.3KM hike on the Tre Cime di Lavarado trail, followed by lunch and another 3.2 KM hike on the Cadini di Misurina trail before the cloud coverage fully came in. Debbie and her family adore hiking and often do large hike days so Kevin has now married into the family and started to be a hiking fan! So their wedding day would not have been complete without a hike. To say we were tired come the end was an understatement! And what a stunning wedding adventure this was! If you are getting married in the Dolomites, then pop me a message. I would love to be a regular Dolomites wedding photographer as the area is so vast and there is much more to explore!
