Villa Regina Teodolina, Lake Como Wedding Photographer
Lake Como will always have my heart! After working at Villa Ciprissi, Villa Monestero and Villa Balbinaello- Lake Como is my weakness! Kate and Mark married at the stunning Regina Teodolina, and were lucky with weather. Having had storms overnight and forecasts for rain throughout the day- it luckily held off. We played it safe with an indoor dinner just in case- but everything else they managed to have outside based on their original plans! Fabulous considering there was also flooding a few weeks alter in the area!
Getting ready at Regina Teodolina
The rooms in the villa are so lovely, like many Italian villas, there is limited windows for the light source in the room, but the placement often means having fun playing with light and shadow. Kate had the most amazing choice for her own wedding dress as well as the bridesmaids, with varying shadows of pastel dresses. All looking like something out of a painting while they helped Kate get in her dress. Lake Como Wedding Photographer
First Look on the Lake
Next, it was time to have a first look and couple photos as well as family photos on the lake. I do love following an American timeline for a wedding day, as often this is done after ceremony in the UK or still often in Europe. But having a certain amount done before means that you get more time after the ceremony to enjoy the reception. Mark was so excited to see Kate in her dress! Once they had a momnet together we did photos around the venue and hopped into the boat for photos.
Wedding Ceremony on Lake Como
Next, it was time to have the ceremony on the lake. With the bridal party coming down the staircase down in pairs. Followed by Kate and her parents. The view overlooks the stunning Lake Como, with the weather holding off and dramatic clouds in the background. With personal vows and a heartwarming ceremony, it was then time to exit to petals of confetti.
Drinks reception on Lake Como
Next, it was time for the drinks reception. Where guest couple have their picture drawn, enjoy canepes and the couple had a quick boat ride that guests could watch. It felt so fresh, colourful and loving with everyone around.
Dinner and speeches on Lake Como
Next, it was time to head into dinner, with pastel pinks and warm glows. Speeches were between courses and everyone was so lively!
Live Cake making and dancing on Lake Como
Next, it was time for the first dance as well as live cake making. Which is always such a fun tradition in Italy. I love anything like a Champagne tower, tiramisu cake or live cake making! As Marks heritage was Scottish, it was then time to go into the villa and have ceilidh dancing before it was time to head back to my hotel. What a day! If you are considering marrying in Lake Como… it always has to be a yes!
