San Galgano Abbey Luxury Wedding Photography
How amazing was it to be back at San Galgano Abbey? It was actually our 3rd year anniversary after marrying here ourselves. So it was so lovely to head back. We actually ticked of Cinque Terre off our bucket list for a holiday before driving back down to Tuscany to capture the gorgeous wedding of Kirsty and Evan. Getting ready at Agriturismo San Galgano
Kirsty and Evan hosted all of their guests on site. Which was so lovely as it allowed them the ability to have extra days either side of the wedding to entertain guests, create amazing memories as well as make the whole trip extended. So often the wedding day goes by in a flash so its great to be able to make sure this feels more engaged and present for an extra few days. Both Evan and Kirsty were getting ready on site and myself and the video team could go up and down between the boys and the girsl to get photos. Making sure nothing was missed! I adored the gorgeous sunlight beaming through during bridal prep details. And then the gorgeous veil photos for more moody shots.
Tuscany Wedding Ceremony in the Hills
Next, it was time to say ‘I Do’. With personal vows, they intertwined them with each other so that they took turns speaking which was really sweet. The wind really picked up pace just before the ceremony, so in between a little battle with the veil- it was time for the first kiss and exit into drinks reception.
Italian Drinks reception- Aperitivo
Food is such a massive part of an Italian wedding! And Kirsty and Evans wedding did not disappoint! With three food stations with meats, cheeses and even quail eggs being cooked in site for eggs on toast. It was an amazing affair! With a live Saxaphone player and time for us to take group photos. It was a gorgeous mix of good food, good conversations and fun.
San Galgano Abbey Dinner
Next, it was time for dinner. Just before guests were seated I popped across to get some lovely detail photos- I adored the lemons and lovely florals. With some amazing heartfelt speeches from Kirsty’s Father, the best men and also a joint speech by Kirsty and Evan. Just before the first course was placed on the table- a folk band came out singing traditional Italian songs where everyone was up dancing and waving their napkins.
Golden Hour Couples photos at San Galgano Abbey
During our photo call we always talked about popping out during golden hour to get some couple photos of the Abbey. As it is just across the road, it was a great opportunity to do them. At this time of day he abbey is closed to visitors and completely quiet. We had the area fully to ourselves which was perfect! It was a squeeze to get these in as dinner was running a little later and the folk band were still doing songs between courses. But we nipped out between a song set and managed to come back to one of Kirstys favourite songs. And with these photos…. it was 100000% worth it!
Champagne tower and first dance at San Galgano Abbey
Next, it was time to enjoy the dessert table and champagne tower as the sun went down nad we got into dusk. Before doing some really fun flash photos and heading into first dance. I cannot describe how in love these two were. And this wedding day was just pure perfection!
