Painted Hall Wedding Photography-A wedding day filled with evening performances

The elegance and stunning backdrop of the Painted Hall is such a stunning setting for a wedding.

There is really something so stunning about a wedding at the Painted Hall. As a London Wedding Photographer I have had the privilege of being able to have gone to some jaw dropping locations. But the Painted Hall really has to be up there as one of the most break-taking when you walk in the room. With a max capacity of 400 it is the perfect space to allow for bigger ceremonies and wedding dinners.

As a wedding venue it is truly unique. With the most atmospheric walk down the aisle that you ever could dream of. You can then have a drinks reception to follow in the colonnades if the weather is good, or for winter weather it can be in the undercroft. As Victoria and Dan’s wedding day was in February they had their drinks in the undercroft. But I will be back for a September wedding where I am hopeful to see a end of summer drinks reception outside to see the best of both situations.

As one of the stipulations of hiring the Painted Hall is a later ceremony, the timeline can be more back to back behind the scenes. So while you and your guests are enjoying a gorgeous drinks reception, the painted hall is being transformed for your wedding breakfast. With a team who are highly talented to turn this room around quickly and allow you to get some photographs inside.

Once you have had an amazing wedding breakfast you can then dance the night away. Victoria and Dan decided to stay upstairs in the painted hall and have dance performances which was truly unique. If you want to change into an evening outfit or freshen up then the Admirals House can also be rented separately. You could also use this to get ready in. So there are plenty of options.

The Details

Take a little look at some of the suppliers that was a part of this gorgeous day.

Getting Ready

Both Victoria and Dan got ready at a hotel in Greenwich so that they were only a short drive away. As sometimes that are can be harder to get to as you have to cross the Thames. so sometimes there can be traffic delays. So if you are thinking of getting marreid at the Painted Hall then consider local hotels in the area or even hiring the Admirals House at the Painted Hall for even more ease.

Painted Hall Ceremony

After arriving at the painted Hall, it is inevitable that you will be awestruck with how stunning the space is. All for the guests were taking photos while entering and just stopping to take it all in. Next it was time for Victoria to walk down the aisle- being given away by her brother. They opted for a ceremony all on one level. You can also have the ceremony on the steps with florals running down left and right. But thee guys kept it simple with two elegant florals either side.

Painted Hall Wedding Breakfast

Once the ceremony was complete, everyone moves down to the undercroft for drinks reception while the room gets turned around. We nipped out for some couple photos, candids and then taking detail photos of the tables before everyone is called back in. I couldn’t make up my mind which set up was more stunning. The ceremony or the dinner?!

Evening reception at the Painted Hall

With so many traditions and dances the evening was such a colourful and energetic event. With the breaking of the bread to start. Followed my speeches and then varying dances between courses. This then ended with some final dances and the couple and friends getting involved!
