Jessica and Richard had such a VIBE! Never have I had a couple who oozed such energy that the whole of London seemed to be behind them! I started the day with some getting ready photos with Jessica in central London. Jessica has done life modelling and boy does she know her angels. I could not resist a ew stunning window photos with that gorgeous light. She was so willing to do any poses and you only needed 30 seconds with her to get the photo. Jessica was also going to be doing a surprise song for Richard so she did a little practise before heading off to Westminster Abbey.
Westminster Abbey Wedding Ceremony
I have captured a few ceremonies now at Westminster Abbey. It is such a stunning place. If you are considering marrying here I believe there are a few caveats to marrying there. You have to be a member of the royal family, resident of the Abbeys precincts or members of the orders of the bath and their children. So it is lovely when i head here as you know it is quite special! There are some strict rules around photography so if you are thinking of marrying here and meet the criteria then make sure your aware that photography is limited. It is a highly respected location and as such photography is quite minimal. I am allowed to do photos in the lead up to the ceremony within reason.respect levels in the cloisters. Once entering the main abbey I can capture walking in and out as normal. But during the ceremony I am only allowed to cover from the gate. So these are the only angles for ring exchange, first kiss etc. I might or might not get waved in for the signing of the register but this varies wedding to wedding based on who is doing the service. While you can get some lovely photos from the back it is worth bearing in mind that you cannot get close up photos of faces and no forward facing of guests for example. Once the ceremony is all done you then get a limited time in the cloisters for groups and couple photos before leaving the area.
It was lovely that Jessica was also able to light a candle for a family member no longer with them before the ceremony began.
Couple wedding photos on the streets of London
On the call Jessica and Richard stated their love of the city and that they wanted guests to go off in the double decker bus and then we would head to the venue via the tube to capture some photos. This was great as it allowed them some alone time to take stock of just being married as well as get some lovely couple photos. This part of the day was where I really got to see the connection between these two. So lively and in tune with each other. People were clapping and really getting involved with their love story. These were some of my favourite central london wedding photos to date! All of these photos went over to the couple in colour but I adored this little black and white set.
Onto the reception
Once they joined the rest of the wedding party it was time for speeches and food. These guys wanted ot. super relaxed with more of a feel for sharing bowls, no sit down dinner and informal speeches.
