WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER IN ITALY

I am a destination wedding photographer in Italy. Born and bred in Devon, UK, but Italy has my heart and I also got married there myself in 2022 at San Galgano Abbey. I am captivated by its charm, landscape, culture and amazing food! Personally, I have always dreamed of getting married in Italy. Are you planning your romantic and intimate Italian wedding? Locations whether city or countryside offer outstanding scenery. Rome, the Amalfi Coast, Tuscany, Puglia, Venice or Lake Como are perfect for an Italian wedding. Anywhere you pick will be a dream come true. Italy has some of the most diverse local culture and scenic wedding venues for you to choose from., so why not choose the best wedding photographer in Italy? 😉

Apart from being a destination wedding photographer in Italy, I cover the whole of the UK. Being voted the top 10 wedding photographers of the UK in by Zankyou and the top 50 wedding photographers of the UK by GoHen and ELLE amagaine top 12 wedding photographers. So your in safe hands. Having covered weddings in Qatar, Santorini, Puglia, Siena, Atlanta, and I’m often traveling for Destination Weddings in Italy. With other such stunning options to photograph in places such as Umbria, Lake Garda, the Amalfi Coast, Dolomites, Venice, Verona, Positano, Rome, Ravello, Bari, Perugia, Lecce and Sorrento – I’m looking forward to more Italian destination weddings and elopements to photograph.

I want to capture the stunning settings that exist in the Italian landscape whilst blending you as a couple and your chosen guests into the scenery. I look to create a dreamlike story of your day to showcase your exact moments. I am a hopeless romantic and adore capturing those most in love moments couples show on their wedding day. I have captured many an Italian wedding, with 2024 being no different! This year will take me to Sorrento, Lake Como, Lake Garda and Tuscany.

How do you approach being a wedding photographer in Italy?

As an Italian destination wedding photographer I adore the light and landscape. There is something completely different to Italian light and how it falls compared to UK light. But it is also quite tricky. On my first Italian wedding is was a steep learning curve to understand the harsh mid day sun and to work quickly with the beautiful golden hour lighting. As an Italian wedding photographer, I use the olive trees, stonework, fields and golden hour sunsets to really capture your location in all of its glory. After all, you have booked a Italian destination wedding so we really need to make use of the uniqueness that your setting is giving you. Being inspired by my fashion work I look at your surroundings, your dress and bridal party to really create storytelling images as well as the fun and friendly group shots. The wedding photos need to show the location and why you have chosen this venue. As well as mixing in your candid shots of guest and details. The Amalfi Coast, Tuscany, Puglia are wonderful wedding destinations. I have weddings this year in Siena, Ravello, Lake Como, and Sorrento which I am really looking forward to.

Are Italy wedding packages expensive?

The short answer is no. If you are having a wedding abroad in Italy, I will work with exactly the same wedding packages as my UK packages. The only extra costs required is for travel. So a budget flight, hotel and expenses – so not much more than a UK wedding. I work with the couples to also find the best travel prices so I keep my packages and expenses completely transparent.

Why choose a UK photographer to take abroad?

One answer only. TRUST. There is a pure level of trust that goes into wedding photography and it is a very long process. From consults, the engagement shoot to the wedding day itself, choosing images, creating albums etc. Having that relationship in the UK with a phone call away, meeting face to face several times and fluent English on the day and back home can really help. As well as potential communication issues on the day. There have been horror stories around booking a destination supplier and then having no communication after the wedding and no photos!  This is not to say it happens every time and to bad mouth suppliers! There are amazing suppliers in Italy. However its about that piece of mind. After all your wedding images are your keepsake from the day and need to be perfect. There are also different photographic styles in each country, so you may find the local photographers only work for a few hours where as a UK based wedding photographer would work from preparations through to first dance. So this is completely a personal choice for you to make.

What photos do you take on the day?

I look to photograph the day as a whole, telling to story from start to finish. Getting an equal amount of details, natural guest shots, family group shots and couple shots. Couples often ask for certain things as well as we create a potential backdrop list of definitive locations around the venue that are important. Take a look at some individual galleries of the day to get a feel of what I shoot.
