couple photos in cinque terre

Capturing Alison and Johns wedding day in Tuscany was my last travel wedding of the year. So it was lovely to head back to Tuscany which is always close to my heart as we also got married here. This was a full day wedding so both myself and Graham were capturing this day. Borgo Corsignano is such a stunning venue choice to get married at. Set within 30 hectares with 16 apartments it can house most wedding guests as well as putting up others in their sister site. This venue sits more on the luxury Borgo side of things with plenty of options for ceremony set up and dinner locations. I also captured a farewell lunch the next day to send off the guests before Alison and John went on honeymoon.

Getting ready at Borgo Corsignano

Everything was on site for this wedding which was great and it really took the pressure off having Graham cover john and the boys. So I could focus on the girls and the details of the day. Working together often means not seeing each other much for the day! As ideally we should be covering something the other person is not. So that the gallery as a whole is diverse and covers as many aspects as you can.

Ceremony overlooking the town of Poppi

Having a wedding in Italy in October can always have more chance of rainfall. And this was the case in the days leading upto their ceremony- but luckily for them the wedding day was warm and sunny! Meaning an outdoor ceremony was on the cards! This overlooked the stunning town of Poppi with its castle and landscape while they said their vows. And Alisons sister who is an opera singer also gave a few performances during the ceremony.

Drinks reception overlooking the valley

After the ceremony guests walked up the pathway to the drinks reception where amazing food was provided. Food in Italy for both dinner and drinks reception is always amazing with a full spread! While Graham captured drinks reception I was also to do group photos and then head back to also capture the rest of drinks reception alongside him. Candid moments were really important to these guys so we make sure this was a priority.

Couple photos around the Borgo

Before heading to dinner it was time to do some couple portraits. Making use of some of the key areas around the estate. There were so many choices! That we had to be decisive so I mainly focussed on the famous gates here, the pond and the avenue of trees as my favourite sweet spots.

Italian Dinner

While we were lucky enough to have a gorgeous outdoor ceremony and sunny drinks reception it is a little too cold for outdoor dinners come sunset in October so they opted to have the dinner indoors. Some venues in Italy do not have great indoor options for wet weather but Borgo Corsignano has a great dinner space with hight ceilings and a balcony level. It was great to see the light change throughout the speeches and also have the musicians from the drinks reception do a performance.

Italian Party!

Next it was time to head over to the party area, which was all set up to make the cake and then do the first dance. Everyone was really getting into dancing spirit and they really felt the headaches the next morning!

Farewell lunch

It is always lovely when you spend longer with a couple and their family. So covering a welcome dinner or farewell lunch or pool party is always great. I tend to charge a minimal fee for these to make it more affordable for couples to have that nice ending to their wedding weekend. Alison and John had freshly made pizzas on site, DJ and pool party with ice cream and games galore! What a brilliant end to their wedding weekend.
