South of France Intimate Wedding

Antoine and Bethany got in touch with me about covering both their legal wedding in the UK and their destination wedding in France- ideally doing both with the same photographer. I was already booked for their Uk date but was honoured that they loved me work so much their still wanted me to capture the full wedding day in the South of France. It was amazing to see this area of France for the first time and we headed to Monaco and also St Tropez which was so beautiful. if you are looking for a St Tropez photographer then pop me a message!

Getting ready in the South of France

It is always lovely when everything is on site- more so with weddings abroad as it makes the logistics much easier and stress free for everyone involved. If there is also any timings issues then these can be resolved quicker and make up any time. Both Antoine and Beth were getting ready on site so it allowed me to do a few scene setting photos, details and going back and forth between then for getting ready photos before the ceremony began. Some of my Favourite photos of Beth were in the little pocket of light where i could get some lovely moody photos with the light and shadow.

Outdoor Wedding ceremony

It was time to start the ceremony. Beth and Antoine chose their ceremony to have quite a few speeches from family and friends, personal vows and ring exchange. It was great to have a ceremony longer than normal with these speeches as it allowed me to really vary my angles and get lots of reactions of guests. Often ceremonies can be over too quickly even though that is the whole reason we all come together. Stunning florals by Dandelions and Grace adorned the asymmetrical ceremony arch while everyone looked on.

Drinks reception in the golden hours

Once the ceremony was over- it was time to head into drinks reception. We did a few quick couple photos at the ceremony arch before it moved to the dinner set up while guests traveled over to the main house where there were canapés and drinks and we did some group photos in between before the sun started to go down.

Couple photos in the south of France countryside

Once some food was eaten and everyone hd a chance to say hello, I took Antoine and Beth away for their couple photos before we lost the daylight. Often with a later summer ceremony abroad it is making sure you get daylight photos before this is lost. With just enough time to also see the ceremony set up with the gorgeous pink sunset.

Dinner around the pool

The ceremony arch was moved to the top table and more florals adored the dinner set up that was scattered around the poolside. With pink on the tables as well as the sky it was a stunning sight to see. What is always stunning about destination weddings is outdoor dinners- with festoon lighting and even the glow o the pool this gave such an intimate vibe for speeches and cake cutting. Ready to then head inside for first dance and a few night time couple photos before I said my goodbyes.
